Raised in Augusta, Ga and in small town in Iowa, Colleen Gallagher has grown up in the world of sports. She ran track, and played soccer and volleyball in high school, then went on to play NCAA Soccer at the University of Northern Iowa. During her sophomore year, she sustained a head injury during one of her games that left her blind in her right eye. After going through rehab in hopes of being able how to play again, she decided it was best for her long-term health to end her career as a soccer player. The struggle of adapting to day to day life, and no longer being able to compete at a collegiate level was a great challenge for her, and took its toll both mentally and physically.
After a few years of searching how to return to a competitive sport, she stumbled upon the World Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, better known as the WBFF. With her passion for fitness and a need for competition, she signed up for her first show: The WBFF Fitness Atlantic Championships on April 14, 2012. Through her knowledge as a Kinesiology major and her drive toward her new goal, she trained herself to compete in the Bikini Diva category. Colleen won her category and took home the coveted WBFF Bikini Pro Card. Since the show, she has joined Cathy Savage Fitness as a sponsored athlete, and is now training to compete as a PRO in the WBFF World Championships, August 24 and 25 in Mississauga, Ontario! So, be on the look out for her on the WBFF Pro stage!!
